Meet Dr Shamyl Adams
Qualifications: BChD (University of the Western Cape)Dr Shamyl Adams graduated from the University of the Western Cape in 1999. His early experience included working in private practices across Cape Town and Durban, along with service delivery at Red Cross Children's Hospital. During this time, he was exposed to a wide range of dental conditions and treatment needs across different patient groups.
In 2001, he joined a Cape Town practice as an associate and has since taken over the practice. His work includes routine dental care as well as restorative treatment, allowing for continuity of care within a single setting.
Dr Adams has completed a postgraduate Diploma in Implantology. He continues to attend courses both locally and internationally, ensuring that updated techniques and approaches are incorporated into daily care. His focus remains on structured treatment planning, where each step is considered in relation to your overall oral health and long-term outcomes.
Dental care often involves more than addressing a single concern. Conditions can develop gradually, and early signs are not always obvious. Regular assessments allow changes to be identified and managed before they progress, helping to maintain stability over time.
Outside of the practice, Dr Adams maintains a balanced routine that supports the demands of clinical care and ongoing professional development.
